Collection: Metric Threading Tap

Shop engineers’ metric and metric fine threading taps at Fixaball, with taper 1st, intermediate 2nd and bottoming 3rd taps for cutting internal threads. Suitable for engineering, workshop maintenance and repair projects, these taps create threaded holes for compatible metric bolts, screws and studs.

Taper taps feature a longer lead to help start the thread and guide initial alignment. Intermediate taps, also known as second taps, have a shorter lead for progressing the thread. Bottoming taps, often called bottom or third taps, cut threads closer to the base of a blind hole after the thread has been started.

Choose metric coarse or metric fine taps to match the required thread diameter and pitch. Select the appropriate tap sequence for your hole type and material, and use the recommended tapping drill size and suitable cutting lubricant. Check individual product specifications for material suitability and hand or machine tapping requirements.
